Christians in Nigeria and beyond have been charged to seize the occasion of Christmas to portray the life and times of Christ Jesus while on earth.
This was the position of Rev. Timothy Oyewale while featuring live on today’s Edition of the Diamond Breakfast Show- a flagship programme of Diamond88.7FM, Ilorin, and Monitored by Abbas Berende.
According to Rev. Oyewale, that Christmas originated from two words Christ meaning the anointed one while Mas means showing appreciation or thanks giving.
He stated that Christmas teaches us about showing appreciation toward others, showing kindness, teaching humility and a reminder that we are pilgrims on earth.
He further stated that people didn’t make good use of the Christ teaches, and some people deliberate didn’t put the teaches in practice and spending extravagantly on unnecessary things instead of living the way Christ lived.
He added that Christmas should be celebrated with people who are less privilege in the society, we should paid them a visit, spear part of what we have with them, do things that will make them happy.
We are also expected to make effort about telling people about why Jesus Christ came to the world and what He expect us to do.
He advised that we should stay focused, adhering to the teachings and practice of Christ for humanity and a better society.
