A Public Affairs analyst Dr. Sunday Olaifa Adeseko has frown at the situation where the ruling party wins the entire available seat in Local Government election in states across the country.
Dr. Olaifa stated this today while featuring Diamond’s flagship programme Diamond Breakfast show monitored by Ayomikun Inawole and Praise Onu. He stated that as long as the election is constituted by the state authority, the probability of fairness is low.
According to him, the action of the PDP is directed at walking into people’s mind to prepare for the 2027 election, adding that they want to draw the people to their side and to be in their favour.
“As long as that election is being conducted by KWASIEC (Kwara state Independent Electoral Commission), if the APC loses and the PDP come into power and the government is also in charge of that in terms of assessing who is going to be the commissioner, they can use the section of this INEC to also conduct elections for the 74 local governments.”
Reacting to president Tinubu’s statement during his recent trip to France looking to build foreign relations, He stated the need to come up with concrete plans to better govern and manage the country’s resources.
“Every government should have a plan and a template which can be used to bring out some policies that will make the economy work and I think Tinubu is trying to invite people to come and probably in education so that youths can be engaged and unemployment will be reduced. Well there is nothing bad in inviting, what is bad is inviting them to an economy that is not prepared for those invited, what do we have on ground to have those people we are inviting.”
Meanwhile, Doctor Olaifa advised that the government should provide a conducive environment to encourage potential investors in the country thereby leading to the growth and development of the citizens.
