The national orientation agency Kwara directorate embarked on road work on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024, from their state secretariat at Fate to Maraba and back to sensitize the public on the national values
charter and national anthem, also known as the 7 for 7 citizenship codes. The state director of the National Orientation Agency, Kwara Alhaji Dare Abdulganiyu, stressed the program’s importance in a statement.
“It is about the agency’s activity to sensitize the citizens on the current government policies and programs, especially the one which we are currently on which is the 7 for 7 citizenship code. As we are conducting at the headquarters the community organization and mobilization officers (COMO) are our area officers in charge of the various local governments are also doing the same thing. The national value charter tagged 7 for 7 has on one part the government and the other hand the citizen expectation and we have some indices in the government promise, we have equality in the society that no one is above the law then we have entrepreneurship individual has that right that the government has to provide jobs and we have dignity of labor, individual should be respected according to his area of specialization we also have peace and security which is paramount, the citizens are expected to be disciplined to have the duty of care that it consider others in the society.”
Alhaji Dare Abdulganiyu also shared some provisions of the national value charter. “As citizen, we need to be disciplined law-abiding, perform civil rights and responsibility, and pay tax and other things
these are part of what makes us a real Nigeria, who are the real Nigerians the real ones are those who key into these things I mentioned, as the same time this activity has to do with sensitization on the new
national anthem to know the real lyrics of the anthem some of us in this age are not aware of when it was changed but with this one we want them to learn it by heart, to understand the meaning and imbibe it.
We have many ethnic groups in Nigeria and many languages spoken, but now no matter what these differences in our values and system should be a strength for us to garner together. The labours of our heroes past we think about that struggled and fought for our development and those that really contributed the efforts should not be in vain, it helps in reechoing all our values so we will see ourselves as real Nigeria and one sovereign element.”
The S.A to the Director General NOA Abuja on partnership and projects Anthony Eromosele who was present on a monitoring visit gave his message to kwara residents. “as kwara residents the state of harmony my single message for every inhabitant of the state whether living here or doing business or schooling here to understand the importance of playing us playing our part as citizens so we are promoting the value charter which makes for 7 for 7 , citizens of kwara to play their part and show their own duty while they expect the government to bring about their promises to the citizens of kwara state so, it is a matter of collaborate together working together both citizens of the state and inhabitants of the state and the government of the state to make the state the state of harmony the we want to see that makes for the 7 for 7 citizens duty and duty of the government.”
The aims and scope of the government and National Orientation Agency is to have a rebrand Nigeria we want to change the negative narration not only in the country but also in the Diaspora, all the messages, tracts and information being passed along all for the aim of a new and true Nigerian. So the act of inviting all these positive values, and moral constant dissemination of information is all for the reformation of the Nigerian citizen and creating a real Nigerian. And as Nigerians, we have
a duty to the nation as the nation also has responsibility to us.
