The Kwara learn program introduced by Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s led administration was designed to revolutionize education in public schools.
This was disclosed by the Honourable Commissioner of Education and Human Capital Development Hajia Sa’adatu Modibo- Kawu, while featuring live on Monday’s (9th December, 2024) edition of the Diamond Breakfast Show- a flagship programme of Diamond88.7FM.
Speaking on the achievement of her ministry, she stated that there has been a change in the delivery of teaching. According to her, the teachers in the state have been provided with a tablet that is data driven to deliver up to date lesson plans across all state-owned schools, thereby discouraging the menace with out of school children.
“I have been impressed and proud of the team, they’ve been all out and what we do is that they bring them to the ministry, we make them sign an undertaking and we are able to address so that as reduced the bait. The government can do this by itself, but we will continue to engage all the key players to just to ensure that we altogether do this and we also move around to pick a few of them that we see on the street, we have to ensure that we do a lot of sensitization in order to let them know what it means to be educated, of course education is the key driver to the economic goals and development of the country” the commissioner added
In response to the assault of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who was serving at Government Day Secondary School, Kulende, she said that justice has been served, and assuring that there will be no repeat of such incident in the state.
“Justice has been served because the teacher has been sanctioned the youth corp member was serving in the junior section while the teacher was in the senior section. We do have a meeting with the schools now to ensure that they always refer back to the service rule books because it would have prevented this from happening.”
According to her, Education for all is the collective responsibility of all not of the government alone, calling for more support to enhance better education in Kwara.
