Mr Olanrewaju Lawal, a Kwara based Public Policy Analyst, has advised the Nigerian government to prioritize indigenous production of goods and services, highlighting the various aspects where improvements can be gotten if maximized properly.
Speaking on Thursday 16th October, 2025 as a guest featured on the Diamond Breakfast show, Mr Lawal commended the efforts of the economic team of the government, citing the positive change in the prices of things, visibly showing their efforts over time.
“The economic team of the president are doing their bit and some of the works they’ve been putting in is showing, however there is still a lot more to be done. It is my honest belief that if we produce more as a people, and that production cuts across several sector like agriculture, manufacturing, service provision, if we produce more, then definitely the price will still drop further than it is at the moment. Inflation is easing, I acknowledge that.”
However, Mr Lawal has described these efforts as not sufficient, reiterating that the government needs to focus on not only prioritizing indigenous production of goods and services, but also creating a system of sustainability using vast sectors like the agricultural sector in Nigeria there by closing on the gap of inflation.
