Women have been urged to be enterprising and supportive amidst the economic crisis facing the nation in order to contribute to the home front.
This advice was given by women entrepreneurs when featuring as guests on popular Diamond FM, Ilorin, Kwara State popular Yoruba Language News and Current Affairs program “E ba wa da si”.
President Bola Tinubu in his inaugural speech on May 29th, 2023 declared an end to fuel subsidy payment and his administration floating of naira has caused inflation and hardship for many citizens.
While contributing on the programme, Mrs Ayobami Adediran, Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Bammy Fabrics and Varieties emphasized networking as an integral part of business.

She said “women should try to network with other like minds, this will improve their knowledge and experience about their businesses”.
“I used to sell only fabrics before joining NECA Network Entrepreneurial Women, it was there my eyes was opened to add tailoring materials to my business”.
“I went further to lean how to sell those tailoring materials and now I’m doing ready to wear”.
Contributing on the programme, Mrs Bisola Oduwole Suleiman, a broadcast journalist, maintained that women should leverage on social media platforms to showcase their businesses.
She added that “social media platforms are more than displaying pictures or following celebrities”
“Without getting a shop, one can be showcasing goods or service on those platforms and sell to customers across the globe”.
Mrs Funke Taiwo, Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Pot and Pan Catering Service maintained that women should not wait until they have huge capital before starting a business.
“Starting a business didn’t require huge capital, there are some businesses that someone can start with N10,000 to N20,000 and with consistency, the business will grow”.
“I started my catering business by putting food in a car, parked anywhere I see people gathering because I know they will buy food”.
“But the story is not the same today, people started recommending me as caterer for big events”.
“There is no better time to start a business, one should just need to start once little capital is available”.
