Claim: An X user shared a picture of Musilu Ayinde Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo and Ex-presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi with a caption that Obi pays homage to Oluomo, vows to work with the new NURTW National President

Verdict: Misleading! After scrutinizing the picture through Google Reverse Image Search, it showed that the original picture was  of only Musilu Ayinde Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo that surfaced on the Internet on Monday, 11th November, 2024

An X user, Chigozorim Aliyu Emakayi @GoziconC shared a picture of the new National President of National Union of Road Transport Workers, Musilu Ayinde Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo and Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in Nigerian 2023 general election. 

The post reads “Breaking: Peter Obi pays homage to Oluomo, vows to work with him as the new NURTW National President!”

The post as at 15th November, 2024 has been viewed by over 300,000 users,  245 reposts, and over 2,000 likes.

This has been generating reactions from many users of the platform.

Uncle Sky @Samkay78 said the picture is photoshopped and the person that produced it try. 

“Person that Photoshop try shall…

But he or she foolishly forget to blend the edges. As a designer, E too obvious”.

Another user, Omo_Orunmila @DanijuIbrahim said in pidgin English that he has seen it.

“brother i see am too !!!!”

A blogger “Felix Omoko Blog”  also reported the story that Peter Obi visit to pay homage to  MC Oluomo.

Obi, a former Governor of Anambra came third during the 2023 general election which was won by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. 

He enjoyed massive support from some youths called the Obidient movement that campaigned rigorously for his emergence. 

Akinsanya, a former Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW recently emerged and sworn-in  as the National President of the transport union. 

But is the picture true? Due to the sensitivity of the picture, Dismond FM subjected it to scrutiny to ascertain its veracity.

Verification
Diamond FM used Google Reverse Image Search to check the picture, it was discovered that the original picture of only Musilu Ayinde Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo was posted by an Instagram user Ijesha_ibk on Monday, 11th November,, 2024 with a congratulatoru message.

“Congratulations sir @kingmcoluomo”.

Conclusion

A picture of Musilu Ayinde Akinsanya aka Oluomo and the forner presidential candidate, Peter Obi shared by an X user was doctored. Misleading!
