A Public affairs commentator and librarian comrade Joel Afolayan  has Said that Philip Shaibu is wrong to have assumed position when he is aware of the two cases that were filed after the judgement of the Federal High Court particularly the stay of action. 

Afolayan made this comment whille featuring on Diamond Fm, Ilorin Kwara State’s Breakfast Show tagged “Diamond Breakfast Show” on Tuesday 13th August, 2024.

 It will be recalled that the Edo government claimed philip Shaibu is impersonating the deputy governor appointed by Godwin Obasekin, Olabayo Godwin and warned to stop presenting himself as such. While the state government insists that Shaibu is not the right person for the position, the federal high court reinstated Shaibu as the deputy governor.

Afolayan said that there can never be two deputy governors in

a state according to law and justice administration. He also stated that the stay of action will put Philip Shaibu’s victory on hold according to the law.

“The most Important thing is for Philip Shaibu to wait for the process. Until the circle of the process is completed there is no victory..”

He further added that Philip shaibu is being political and trying to distract the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP from focusing on their campaign exercise. He concluded by mentioning the possibility of Philip Shaibu being the deputy governor regardless, which is likely to be before the end of the current tenure but not before the election.
