A Public affairs analyst and social commentator, Engr. Jacobs Omotayo has stated that there is a place for criticism as it comes naturally when you occupy a certain important position or on the seat of power.
He made this statement available during Diamond’s flagship programme, Diamond Breakfast Show today, 8th January, 2025 while reacting to the threats made by APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, to Peter Obi, following his New Year message.
According to him: “we have the ruling party and the opposition party, the responsibility of the opposition party is to check and call the ruling party to order when out of track, as entrenched in the 1999 constitution.”
Likewise, he said: “we all have different ways of expressing ourselves, it could be aggressively or politely, stating that the government should wear a coat of tolerance, they should develop a thicker skin to criticism, taking the good and letting go of the bad , adding that everyone has his own freedom enshrined the constitution as amended.”
Meanwhile, he opined that: “comparing parties, the ruling and opposition party respectively, one is more tolerant, revealing that for every political party, there is a manifesto that should be strictly adhered.”
