Presidential candidate for Labour Party- Peter Obi has called on the federal government to investigate the rascalities of leaders that always rob Nigeria of golden opportunities, to make a positive change.

He made this position at the weekend, via his X handle, in reaction to the poor outcome of Nigeria in the 2024 Olympics.

Speaking on the issue, a Public Affairs Analyst Dr. Moshood Hadi, while featuring on the Diamond Breakfast Show earlier today (Monday 12th August, 2024), backed the stance of Mr. OBI, adding that the BOLA TINUBU’s led administration is frivolous in its spending.

“We have give to it to Nigeria, we know how to spend money and we know when it comes to spending and what to do but when it comes to result, we know how to dodge the results. How can you justify ₦12 billion and you come out with nothing to justify from it?

Just like Peter Obi has rightly said, its a matter of concern and a matter that needs to be properly probed and to let us know why we have failed woefully without giving any result” he added.

In regards to the apology about Nigeria’s performance made by the Minister of sports development, John Enoh, Dr. Moshood stressed that the matter needs to be properly probed with an independent body setup to handle the investigation.

In his words: “With the money given to you, you don’t have any reason to complain and the fact that you have a lot of activities, that is why you’re the minister and we don’t need excuse, we don’t need his apology what we need now is a thorough probe and whatever happens at the end of it, let our money be justified.”

“If there is body that we need to curve out money, if you have no business there and you’re going there to collect ₦136 million , bring back our money. That’s the issue, we don’t need apology, what we need now is to just give us the reason why we failed.”

According to Dr. Moshood, Nigeria has the resources, talents and money, appealing that countries having good results today planned adequately ahead.
