The Federal Ministry of Works has announced the upcoming closure of the Independence Bridge in Lagos for rehabilitation over a period of 10 weeks.
According to the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Engr. (Mrs.) Olukorede Kesha, disclosed this today while speaking journalist, she states that the closure will begin on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, and is expected to be completed by May 31, 2025.
The controller emphasized that this closure is essential to facilitate important maintenance and rehabilitation work on the bridge.
she further added that the closure will affect traffic travelling from the Ahmadu Bello Way and Adeola Odeku towards Marina, Eko Bridge and Onikan by zone 2.
However, she apologizes for any inconvenience that this closure might cause and appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation.
