The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Professor Raheem Adaramanja, has disclosed that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved full implementation of School sports programme in Primary and Secondary Schools across the sixteen Local Government Areas of the state.
He stated this on Thursday in Ilorin at the grand finale of the 2023 Kwara SUBEB Spelling B on Radio for Primary and Junior Secondary Schools.
Professor Adaramanja explained that arrangements are being perfected by SUBEB to distribute sports materials to schools in the state, noting that fund is already approved by Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration and available to access by the school heads without delay so as to achieve the purpose.
“We are fully going for the implementation of School sports programme this time around, and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved funds to harness potentials in sports, particularly from primary and secondary schools to discover talented athletes that will represent the state in the national and international championships”
Professor Adaramanja stressed that athletes and players that would be discovered through the programme with the aid of their sports masters will be effectively tutored and nurtured to stardom for them to compete and challenge their contemporaries in the state’s sports commission and Kwara Football Academy (KFA).
