APC Kwara South Senatorial candidate, Prince Lekan Adewoye, has disclosed that he has committed about ₦10 million to supporting efforts to address insecurity across the senatorial district.

Kwara South has faced security challenges in recent months, with attacks by bandits and other criminal elements affecting several communities. The incidents have resulted in deaths and injuries, while residents have also been abducted and some communities reportedly deserted by residents seeking safety.

Speaking at a leadership development roundtable organised by the Kwara Tabloid, Adewoye highlighted some of his interventions in Kwara South despite currently holding no elective or public office.

He said his contributions had focused on healthcare, education, economic empowerment and security, adding that he had invested about ₦10 million in supporting efforts to combat insecurity in the district.

Adewoye also said he had supported medical outreaches, provided Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms for students, distributed equipment to artisans and assisted businesses and cooperative groups across the five local government areas that make up Kwara South.

The APC candidate further outlined his plans for young people, saying his manifesto includes an initiative he described as an “Applied Business Challenge.”

According to him, the initiative is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical business solutions by encouraging young people to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world challenges.

Adewoye said the programme would provide opportunities for youths to develop their ideas, acquire practical experience and transform their skills into productive ventures.

He maintained that his interventions and proposed programmes were aimed at addressing immediate challenges in the senatorial district while also creating opportunities for sustainable development and economic empowerment.
