-Ilorin Emirate charges Kwara NSCDC to tackle thuggery

The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU,
Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, has appealed to the Commandant of the Nigeria
Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, Umar
Muhammed, to intensify efforts at tackling security challenges in the State.
Alhaji Uthman made this appeal when he led the delegation of the Union on a
courtesy visit to the NSCDC new Commandant in his office at the Corps
Headquarters in Ilorin.
The President described the Civil Defence Corps as a very close security agency to
the community, and commended its efforts in maintaining peace and order in the
state.
Alhaji Uthman emphasised that the majority of the thugs are those evicted from
neighbouring states, stressing that urgent steps need to be taken against their evil
and ungodly acts.

Responding, the NSCDC Commandant, Umar Muhammed expressed appreciation
to Alhaji Uthman and members of his entourage for the visit and promised
collaboration. He added that the Command could only be more effective if it had
access to useful and credible information from members of the public.
