Commandant Umar J G Muhammed of Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps takes over the kwara state command from Commandant Muhammed Tukur Ibrahim (RTD) on Monday 19th June, 2023.
The Commandant was received into the warm hands of the 2ic of the Command DCC. Idowu Lawrence and other senior officers and men of the command.
The Quarter guard was well mounted for the inspection of the new commandant.
Head of Departments and units were all paraded to welcome the commandant.

Commandant Umar J.G Mohammed was born on 12th April, 1977. He is a Prince of muye kingdom in Lapai, Niger state.
Commandant Umar has a Bsc. in Business Administration from the University of Abuja. Thereafter, he proceeded to the first university in northern Nigeria, the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University where he bagged three (3) Masters and the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) for the fourth Masters. Namely:
>> Masters in Law enforcement criminal justice A.B.U
>> Masters in Disaster, Risk Management Development studies (A.B.U.)
>> Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy (A.B.U.)
>>Masters in Strategy and Security Administration (NDA)
>>PhD in View- strategy and security studies (Nasarawa State University).
He’s a member of NIGERIA ARMY RESORT CENTRE.
Commandant Umar J.G. Mohammed was enlisted into The corps in the year 2005 as Assistant Superintendent of Corps. After the Mandatory training, he was posted to Niger state Command where he served as the Divisional officer. Thereafter, he was posted to the federal INEC office as the Liaison officer and later deployed to Niger state house of Assembly as the Chief Security officer.
In the year 2010, he was posted to the F.C.T Command where he served as the 2ic Anti corruption unit and later in Intelligence and Investigation department.
He also served as the personal Assistant to Commandant Admin at the National Head Quarters and later became the Acting Commandant Admin in the same office.
He served as the Head of Insurance Unit, at N.H.Q.
In the year 2021, he was redeployed to Zone O, Abuja where he served as the Head of Anti-Fraud Unit, before he got promoted to the Rank of Commandant of Corps and was posted to Kwara Command.
