Governor Abdulraman Abdulrasaq, Kwara State

Alhaji Tunde Aluko, a Chieftain of  the All Progressives Congress, APC in Kwara State has berated Governor Abudulraman Abdulrasaq of Kwara State for a woeful performance in office.

Aluko made the remarks while featuring as a guest on Diamond FM, Ilorin, Kwara State popular Yoruba Language News and Current Affairs programme “E bawa dasii” on Thursday, November, 5th 2024.

He emphasized that the Governor Abdulrasaq led administration in Kwara State has performed below expectations.

“If you ask me to rate the performance of Governor Abudulraman Abdulrasaq administration on project implementations, I will give this government 23% because the project is lopsided favouring a particular session of the State”.

“The claim that the administrator has constructed over 75 road projects means that the projects are all in one area”.

“Those projects are Ahmadu Bello Way, International Conference Center, Tanke Bridge, Unity Bridge, 11 stories building going on inside the building of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, KWIRS, Kwara Hotel rehabilitation”.

“This project is total about 80 billion naira, if the money has been spent across the State, imagine roads around Fate Junction, Wara, Mandate are abandoned, this are not even capital projects but  projects that an Agency of the government can do”.

“No capital projects has been commissioned in the state for the past 5 years including the Tanke Bridge project that a reputable organization has said can collapse as a result of substandard materials they used”.

“The Government Spokespersons are saying what their principal (Governor) wanted them to say, there were not onboard when we started the struggle”.

On the controversial Kwara Hotel Project that the State Government has earmarked over 17 billion naira for rehabilitation, Aluko maintained that the Governor has inflated the price.

He said “the government has an agreement with Crystal Group for concessions of the hotel and the company agreed that it will cost the State 3.6 billion naira, Governor Abdulrasaq went to Ghana to meet Hon. Moshood Mustapha, owner of Crystal Group that the amount should increased to 17 billion naira”.

“Hon. Mustapha consulted a reputable valuer and the report came back that rehabilitating the hotel shouldn’t be more than 6 billion naira but we are surprised that the Governor awarded the project to another company for over 17 billion naira, the matter is before the court”.

Aluko furthered that most of the people that participated in “Otooge” struggle that gave the Governor victory have left him because he said he torn the party manifestoes that gave him victory in 2019.

“It was Hon Saheed Popoola from Offa who was a member of the State House of Assembly that first said it, I have to call him to confirm, Lai Mohammed, who was a serving minister then has left him, Hon Bashir Bolarinwa that served has the party chairman has left him, Akeem Lawal, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo have left him and others”.

Aluko maintained that the local government election that was held in Kwara State was the most fraudulent in the history of the state.

“APC collected 1 million naira from me because I wanted to contest for Ilorin West Local Government Chairman but the party after changing location of the primary election came out with anointed lists, we are in court on it, no step to pacify aggrieved aspirants”.

“The party will struggle to win in Nigeria and Kwara State in 2027, the economy is bad, hunger is in the land and people are angry with the party”.
