Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has urged Nigerians to support, cooperate and pray for the leadership of the country to succeed.

The Governor made the call today in a statement issued by his Director-General Press and Media, Mamman Mohammed in commemoration of Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary.

Buni noted that the decay suffered by the country for a long period called for sacrifice, perseverance and commitment for Nigeria to regain its glory.

“The challenges of insecurity, the economy, weather conditions and environmental factors require strategic and thorough intervention”, he said.

Governor Buni charged traditional, religious, and opinion leaders to preach peace, tolerance and cooperation to promote unity among Nigerians.

“We should explore our diversity to promote national unity, and we must not misuse our cultural, ethnic and religious differences to the detriment of our national unity”, Governor Buni said.

According to the Governor, providing leadership at difficult and trying times calls for sacrifice, support and unity to succeed.

He expressed optimism that Nigeria would soon overcome the challenges afflicting it.
