The Nigerian Army has declared the news of a possible coup against President Bola Tinubu administration as “Fake News.”

This is according to a statement released via the Army’s official X handle.

According to reports, key brigades were under watch and have been placed on “high alert” following a meeting between the Commander of the Presidential Guards Brigade, Col. Adebisi Onasanya, the President and his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

In the previous week, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, amid all tension, economic hardship and high cost of living, warned against calls for a coup and urged people to desist from such.
