
The Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps Kwara State Command has arrested three suspects for allegedly raping a 12 year old girl in offa, Kwara State.
According to a statement released to journalists today (5th September, 2024) by the Command’s Public Relations Officer- Ayoola Michael, the three suspects all males, are; 81 years old Adeleke Oke, 37 years old Sikiru Lawal and 37 years old Moshood Suleiman Ayinde, were apprehended on Sunday the 1st of September, 2024, following a report lodged by the victim’s father at the NSCDC Offa Division.
The Spokesperson added that the suspects confessed to the heinous act and will be charged to court for onward prosecution. He added that the case has been transferred to the Gender Unit of the command for further investigation.
The statement reads in part: “Preliminary investigation revealed that the three suspects had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor on different occasions and threatened her not to open up to anyone about the illicit acts.
Furthermore, a detailed medical examination confirmed that the victim’s hymen was ruptured and provided clear evidence of repeated sexual penetration”.
In his reaction, the Kwara State Commandant of the NSCDC, Dr. Umar Mohammed, vehemently condemned the despicable act, urging the good people of the state to partner with the Corps in its efforts to combat defilement, rape, and other sexual offenses.
