
…nabs killer of Chief Abraham Babatunde, the Aromu of Omu-Aran
The Nigeria Police Force, Kwara State Command, has paraded 8 suspects including parents of alleged killer of a 21-year-old female graduating student of Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa- Awesu Mojisola.
It is recalled that one expelled final-year student of Summit University, Offa, Kwara State, Adebayo Joshua Happiness, was earlier arrested in connection with death of Mojisola.
While parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Ilorin on Friday (30th August, 2024), Commissioner of Police (CP) Victor Olaiya in his address to journalists revealed that the parents named Mr. and Mrs. Adebayo Adeniyi was arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence to conceal the murder case.
“Following their son’s arrest, they attempted to tamper with evidence by retrieving Adebayo Joshua Happiness’s belongings from his school. It was discovered that Mrs. Adeniyi Bukola had removed the SIM card from the deceased’s iPhone and concealed it within a wall some distance from their residence.”
In another case, Ajiro Kayode, a driver employed by late Chief Abraham Babatunde, the Aromu of Omu-
Aran was arrested for allegedly murdering his employer.
“On the night of August 20, 2024, at about 2215hours, Ajiro Kayode admitted to sneaking into Chief Abraham Babatunde’s room and brutally assaulting him with a short, hard plank. He struck the deceased multiple times on the back of the head, resulting in his death. To cover up the crime, Ajiro Kayode then dragged Chief Abraham Babatunde’s lifeless body into the toilet to create the false impression that he had accidentally fallen,” the CP added.
Additionally, Abolarin Samuel Idowu, a suspected member of the notorious Eiye secret cult, was arrested for the murder of Anthony Kayode Balogun, who was allegedly killed in front of a hotel on the night of Thursday 8 August, 2024.
The CP also paraded some staffs of the affected hotel involved in the case of the late graduating student and assured that all suspects paraded would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
