The Kwara State Police Command has rescued Mr. PENGCHAO ZHANG, a Chinese national also known as WILLIAMS KAKA.
He was reportedly abducted ten days ago by six armed men at Cherish Guest House, in Eiyenkorin Area of Ilorin, the State capital.
According to a statement signed and released today by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command – DSP EJIRE-ADEYEMI TOUN, the Chinese national was safely rescued in the early hours of yesterday by the Command’s Tactical Teams and vigilantes.
“On the 10th of March, 2024, six armed men forcefully abducted Mr PengChao Zhang (also known as Williams Kaka amongst his business associates), a Chinese national who Lodged at Cherish Guest House eiyenkorin, Ilorin, sparking concerns and fear within the community
Through diligent and coordinated efforts, the Command’s Tactical Teams and vigilante executed a series of strategic search and investigation leading to the safe rescue of the victim in the early hours of 19th March, 2024,” she added.
The PPRO said that Mr. PENGCHAO has since been reunited with his family unharmed.
She noted that the Kwara State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police CP VICTOR OLAIYA, remains steadfast in pursuing justice and holding accountable those behind the abduction and urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.
