Arsenal midfielder, Declan Rice has disclosed that he would like to wear the captain’s armband at the club, “if anything happens” to current skipper Martin Odegaard.

The 25 year old disclosed this to reporters during a press conference ahead of Tuesday’s game against Belgium and he is also set to wear the armband for his country.

Rice has enjoyed a very impressive debut season at the Emirates so far, following his 105million move from West Ham in the summer.

He further stated that spending a decade with the Hammers, it helped him as a leader and also build his confidence

“There is Martin Odegaard at my club. I’m not thinking about it, but if anything were to ever happen to him, I really would love to put the armband on for Arsenal.”
