Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central has blasted the immigration officer at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, after she was denied access to travel out of the country by seizing her passport.

In a live video she made earlier today, Tuesday, 4th of November, 2025, she claimed that this was the second time this is happening and expressed her frustration on the constant maltreatment stating that she is not a criminal.

“Have I committed any offence? Why are you withholding my passport? You have no right to withhold my passport or deny me exit and entrance into my country. I’m not a criminal and this must stop!”

The Senator has accused the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio of being the mastermind behind the repeated denial, stating that he had instructed the Comptroller General of customs to deny her exit and withhold her passport without legal justification.

The Senator further highlighted that the denial was based on the claim made by senate president- Godswill Akpabio that she keeps on soiling the image of the country by granting international interviews anytime she travels out of the country

She expressed that Godswill is overstepping his boundaries, as the President Tinubu has withdrawn all federal charges against her.

“The President actually spoke with Godswill Akpabio to terminate all the cases against me because he admitted that they were politically witch-hunting cases. So there is no reason why my passport should be withheld at the international airport. There is no reason why,” she said.
