The security analyst Alhaji Taiye Olowo has said the absence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the programme could make other participants feel that the occasion was not given the necessary recognition.
He explained this on Saturday at Diamond 88.7 FM. He explained that when an important programme is organised and a governor or other prominent figure is invited but sends a representative instead, the organisers may feel disappointed because the presence of such a leader would have added significance to the event.
He noted that the presence of the President and a major contender would have created a strong sense of belonging and added greater importance to the peace accord.
However, he stated that if Tinubu or Atiku had prior engagements that prevented them from attending, their absence could be understood as a different situation.
