Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has claimed Arsenal and Manchester United have always spent big on players.
However, according to Guardiola, it becomes “news” when City does.
Savinho is the only player to join the Premier League champions this summer in a £35 million deal.
United have spent £52m on Leny Yoro and £36m on Joshua Zirkzee, while Arsenal made David Raya’s loan move permanent and shelled out £42m on Riccardo Calafiori.
When asked if he was concerned about their rivals’ spending, Guardiola said: “For many years they [Arsenal and Manchester United] have done it.
“Many years but it is not news, it is just when City spends money.”
