Fear grips Okanle community near Idofian Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State as unknown gunmen evaded the community and kidnapped three persons from a family of five.

Confirming the tragic incident, the Baale Olugbense of Okanle, Baale Abdulfatai Olasunkanmi, disclosed to Diamond FM news that that the kidnappers invaded the community around 11.20pm on Monday night and kidnapped the wife and two children of one Alhaji Sikiru Abiola, who relocated from America to the community three years ago.

He noted that calls made to the police and other security agencies did not yield fruits while the vigilantes that were on the trail of the kidnappers found one of the victims already killed while two are still with the kidnappers whose bearing is yet unknown.

The Baale added that one of the vigilantes in a gun duel to rescue the victims from the kidnappers grip was hit by a bullet on his leg and was being taken to the hospital as of the time of filing this report.

When contacted on Tuesday morning, the Kwara Police spokesperson, SP Okasanmi Ajayi said that he has just been informed by Diamond FM, promising to get back to us with full details on the matter.
